Here’s another Forno lunch/Ombra dinner takeover from our Amici Miei series for your consideration.
On the 16th and 17th June, we’ve invited the Abruzzo-born but Roman-in-spirit legend Sarah Cicolini, chef of the excellent contemporary trattoria SantoPalato in Rome to cook with us.
At SantoPalato, traditional (and dare we say overplayed) dishes, such as the carbonara or the oxtail meatball, shine again as if being tasted for the first time thanks to Sarah’s meticulous research on ingredients and new techniques, paired with the greatest natural wines from Italy and Europe.
We’ve been visiting SantoPalato for a few years now and are super chuffed that she’s managed to find the time to join us for a weekend. You might already know the format by now, but her takeover will be a combination of both a ticketed sit-down dinner at Ombra on and a more informal lunch takeover at Forno.
Sarah’s dinner menu will feature heavy hitters such as: Trippa alla Romana, Chicken Liver on Forno Brioche, Pappardelle, Saffron & Mussels, Mutton, Salted Lemon & Swiss Chard.
The menu is still being finalised however due to the nature of the event, we will struggle to cater to most dietary requirements. Please email ciao@ombrabar.restaurant to discuss allergies etc before making a booking as we’d hate to disappoint.
